IBEW Local 583
IBEW Local Union 583 of El Paso, Texas was chartered on February 10, 1907. For over a hundred years now, IBEW Local Union 583 has been representing construction electricians in El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico. IBEW Local Union 583 also has a proud history of producing skilled electricians in the electrical industry with our five-year apprentice training program and continuing education for Journeymen Wiremen as well. IBEW Local Union 583 has been a large part in the construction of our communities through the years while providing a good living wage for all our members and their families.

Our mission
IBEW Local Union 583 is committed in providing solutions to meet the various challenges that our customers face, by providing a labor force of varying skill levels and meeting budget and time schedule demands. With performance and professionalism IBEW Local 583 is committed to: Exercise safe and productive work ethics, perform the highest quality of work and utilize our skills to the maximum level that is expected.
IBEW Local 583 members are trained to work with the highest standard. These standards are called the Code of Excellence. It is designed to provide increased value to the electrical construction users by enhancing the performance of Employers and the efficiency and craftsmanship of IBEW workers. This program’s core strengths are its explicitness and its values for accountability. It is explicit in the sense that it clearly defines the responsibilities of each IBEW worker and Employer which leads to enhanced customer service.
